Emergency Contraception

Provides access to birth control that should be taken within 72 to 120 hours after having unprotected sexual intercourse to prevent an unintended pregnancy. Emergency contraception may be provided in the form of Plan B (2 pills), a large dose of regular birth control pills (2 or 4 pills 2 times during a 12 hour period) or through insertion of a copper IUD. Provides help to people who are experiencing a crisis pregnancy to resolve any social or personal problems that have arisen as a result of their pregnancy or the prospect of parenthood. Assists with conflicting feelings and evaluates options.

Community Shelters

Provides an emergency overnight shelter for homeless single adults or families. Shelter clients are provided with personal hygiene products, shower facilities, towels/washcloths, clean sheets and additional clothing if needed. Meals provided at the shelter for Friday, Saturday and Sunday overnights include dinner, a snack and continental breakfast. Clients are referred to the Ashland Community Kitchen for meals on the other days of the week.
