Typical Legal Aid cases include preventing evictions or foreclosures; assisting with denial of public/subsidized housing, unsafe living conditions or lockouts and utility shut-offs; cases of denial, termination or reduction of government or public benefits; bankruptcy, debtor harassment, wage garnishment, consumer fraud, criminal record expungement; domestic/interpersonal violence protection orders, divorce in cases to protect a person or child from abuse, child custody and reunification when a child's well-being is jeopardized; nursing home residents rights; helping Veterans with civil legal issues.
