Special Notes/Funding

A reduced fare card may be obtained at the Ashland Bus System office. The following may qualify for a reduced fare card: * Age 62 or older or disabled * Medicare Card holder * Disabled Veterans * Children 6 thru 12 years old * Students to and from school * Children under 6 years old ride free. Proof of eligibility required for reduced fare rates.

Description

Provides public transportation in five different bus routes throughout Ashland, Catlettsburg, and Summitt. Correct change or a prepaid pass is required.

Appointments for paratransit rides may be scheduled by calling 606-385-3287 during office hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm (EST) or by e-mailing ashlandbus@ashlandky.org. All appointments will be confirmed the next business day. Applications for Paratransit identification cards are available at the Transportation Center at 99 15th Street and can also be mailed or e-mailed.

Description

Provides paratransit transportation services to those in the community who are unable to ride the fixed route bus services. This service is from origin to destination. Clients must schedule ride times in advance by calling or emailing for an appointment at least the day before the ride is needed.

The Paratransit service covers Ashland, Catlettsburg, Russell Shopping Center, and Westwood. Paratransit service is provided in the service area that is no more than 3/4 of a mile on either side of any Ashland Bus System fixed-route.
