Since the amount of cleaning products in stock is usually limited, it is recommended that clients arrive as earlier as possible on distribution day because available supplies may run out before the official closing time. Clients can obtain a Neighborhood Card by applying at the CAReS office, which is located in the same building as Clean Start.
Description
Provides free household cleaning supplies and paper products to persons in need, such as laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, all-purpose cleaner, bleach and paper towels.

Clean Start operates a licensed beauty salon with professional hairdressers who volunteer their time. Clean Start is partnered with the Bellefonte Academy of Beauty. Since the hairdresser's schedule can vary, clients should call first to find out what days and hours the hairdresser will be available. Appointments cannot be scheduled.
Description
Provides free haircuts for persons experiencing homelessness, children from low-income families returning to school and other individuals in need who are served at the Neighborhood. Haircuts are provided on a first-come/first-serve basis during the scheduled walk-in hours of operation.

Clients are asked to arrive early enough to be finished showering half an hour before closing time so that staff to have ample time to clean the facilities afterwards.
Description
Provides shower facilities where persons experiencing homelessness, travelers and others who do not have access to private bathing facilities can wash. Two private bathrooms are offered with towels and personal hygiene items provided so that clients may shower with privacy and dignity.

Offers a location for clients to receive mail and parcels by providing an address for individuals who have no permanent residence and who need an address to apply for public assistance and to have a place where mail can be sent.
