Shelter Requirements:
This is not a walk-in shelter. The coordinator must give approval prior to providing emergency shelter.
Must be a two-parent or group family in Fayette County that is not eligible for other shelter programs such as the Salvation Army or who otherwise would be required to separate for shelter. This includes same-sex couples, unmarried couples with children and other groups of individuals self-identifying as a "family".

Housing Stabilization Program
Description
Provides assistance to rental tenants with an active forcible detainer (eviction) case in Fayette District Court. The program aims to reduce evictions, allows landlords to get substantial payments for back rent rather than evict and reduces the impact of evictions on the homeless service delivery system. Community Action Council processes applications for assistance and issues rental assistance payments for the program.

Must have/meet: * Live in a rented residence in Fayette County * Live in a household with income at or less than 80% of the Area Median Income * Experienced some negative financial impact during the COVID-19 pandemic * At risk of homelessness or housing instability because of an active eviction case in Fayette District Court

Description
Provides financial assistance through the H20 Help to Others Program for income-eligible, residential water and wastewater customers who find themselves unable to pay their Kentucky American Water bill(s). Maximum grant is $250. Qualifying customers may receive 1 grant per calendar year, while funds permit. Exceptions may be made in extreme situations.
