Description
Provides a program for adults with severe mental illness who require care for less than 24 hours per day, but more than outpatient counseling in order to ensure that the person with a psychiatric disability possesses the skills needed to live, learn, and work in his or her own community. The facilities provided for the program within the Elliott County Outpatient site include a Group Room where clients may stay when not engaged in individual psychotherapy as well as a kitchen area where breakfast and lunch are prepared and served. The services provided encourage exercise and healthy living as well as improving daily living skills such as planning a menu of meals, drawing up a grocery list, cooking and completion of other chores. Referral to a vocational rehabilitation specialist can be arranged when appropriate.
