Description

Provides subsidized public housing that is rented to income and program eligible individuals and families, including older adults and people with disabilities. Units are governed by federal regulations which determine the application process, eligibility requirements, tenant payment and lease obligations.

Mon-Thu 8:00 am-5:00 pm, closed lunch 12:00 noon-1:00 pm, Fri 8:00 am-12:00 noon (EST)

Required Documents

Please bring with you to initial appointment: * Birth Certificate for all household members * Social Security Card for all household members * Picture ID or Driver's License for all household members age 18 years or older * Proof of household income from all sources of income * 3 Personal References which must be from non-family members and are signed, dated and have the address and telephone number of the person giving the reference

Eligibility

Must have/meet: * Household income guidelines * Other Housing Authority guidelines used in determining eligibility, such as the policies for client criminal records

Fees

* Rent is 30% of adjusted gross income, not to exceed the maximum rent for a unit and not less than the minimum of $50 * Security Deposit, which is currently $250 total ($150 due at move in, plus 2 monthly payments of $50)

Intake Procedure

* Must complete online application at ashlandha.org * After the online application is completed and processed, eligible clients will be scheduled an appointment to bring all required documents and to complete the application process at the housing authority office
